From strategy to execution in nine months
Concrete in a truck needs to be poured within 90 minutes of it being loaded, making the coordination of concrete pours on large-scale constructions more akin to ballet than building.
Needing to update and make their systems competitive, construction and building material supplier Boral conducted an extensive strategic overview of their concrete ordering and delivery systems. The review generated 29 ideas for the digital transformation of their concrete business; however, Boral needed help to know where to start.
Craig Walker worked with the Boral team to validate and develop the 29 ideas with stakeholders and clients and from there to generate a prioritised roadmap.
The project in numbers
7Client co-design sessions
6Weeks from idea to wireframes
In order to quickly test and prioritise ideas, we facilitated a series of workshops with clients, stakeholders and construction teams giving them a set of low-fidelity prototypes of digital tools and service experiences to pull apart, review and provide feedback on.
A roadmap for speed
Working with the deep insights and contextual information generated in the workshops, we created the design principles and roadmap to allow the Boral team to design and develop a new portal.
Boral was able to design, build and launch Boral Connect, their digital solution for concrete customers, in less just nine months.
